The project Balancecademy has been one of the flagship projects of Next Level for the last 3 years. The focus of the project is to talk about the topic of Mental Health and help young participants through various ways during the project to develop skills and learn techniques and tools that help them to make balance in their lifestyles. The importance of the topic of mental health is known to us all, especially in modern times when there is so much change happening in terms of adaption to new lifestyles with new technological changes in our society that changed the way we used to interact as a society. The continuous challenges and race among young people to compete with each other in every aspect of life in an ever-evolving atmosphere have put so much pressure on their mental health. The stigma around mental health has made the situation worse and this has created a barrier for the young people to talk about it. Next level as an organization came up with this project idea after recognizing the need to address this topic and talking with young people in our network to share with them our project idea which all of them supported and encouraged us to implement project idea into reality through this project. After successfully implementing this project in 2023, this year we have applied for the second edition of the Balancecademy to meet the growing need of the young people in mental health education. Apart from the main focus of the project which was on Mental health, the project also helped young participants to develop many skills such as introduction to new languages and cultures hence Intercultural Understanding, public speaking, living with a diverse and big group, creating a safe environment to share their journeys on mental health-related struggles, Improve communication and active listening skills, teamwork, self-esteem and confidence, etc. The project was aimed at the following objectives: To raise awareness and increase understanding of mental health among the young participants. To help the participants realize the importance of well-being and self-care and the positive impacts of it on the different aspects of their lives. To discuss and challenge the stigma associated with mental health conditions. To provide participants tools and techniques, through non-formal education methods, to better understand and take care of their mental health. To help participants connect with their inner-self and out-self better through Guided meditation, Grounding, walks in nature, and Yoga. To create a sense of community by building a supportive and safe space for participants to share their emotions, learn from each other, and grow. To help participants enhance their resilience through tools and strategies to cope with adverse and stressful situations. To nurture positive mindsets among young participants to help them develop positive thinking patterns and attitudes towards mental health and wellbeing. To promote soft skills in participants throughout the project by providing them with tools and platforms during the activities. To promote multicultural perspective, respect for diversity, promote social inclusion, and shared values as a community.
