This Erasmus+ youth exchange project aimed to tackle a pressing issue in contemporary Europe: the complex challenges arising from migration and the associated stereotypes fueling prejudice. Recognizing the rise of discrimination and hate speech against migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers, often fueled by misleading media narratives, the project sought to empower young people. Combating these narratives that demonize refugees through fearmongering and "othering" based on ethnicity, race, religion, or socioeconomic status was a central objective. The project focused on: * **Equipping young people with knowledge**: Through workshops and activities, participants gained a deeper understanding of the human rights legal framework surrounding refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers. * **Developing critical thinking skills**: The project aimed to foster critical analysis of media portrayals and public discourse surrounding migration. This critical thinking would allow participants to effectively challenge negative stereotypes. * **Promoting social inclusion**: The exchange aimed to create a space for young people from diverse backgrounds to come together. Through art forms like theater, creative drama, and flash mobs, participants explored themes of social inclusion and human rights. This artistic expression served as a powerful tool for intercultural dialogue and understanding. * **Empowering disadvantaged youth**: The project fostered self-esteem and self-expression among young people from challenging backgrounds. Utilizing artistic mediums provided a platform for their voices to be heard and for them to become active agents for positive change. By achieving these objectives, the project aimed to foster a generation of young Europeans who are critically informed, empathetic, and dedicated to promoting social inclusion for migrants and disadvantaged groups.
