Objectives

The implementation of our project aimed to achieve multifaceted objectives. We sought to challenge the influence of patriarchy by empowering FLINTA* individuals— those identifying as female, lesbian, non-binary*, and trans* and agender* — through the creation of a safer space and using art. The project aimed to instigate a positive impact on participants by fostering a deeper understanding of feminism, providing a safer space, building a sense of community, and amplifying their voices. By curating an environment that prioritized feminist values and celebrated diverse identities through art, we sought out to create a platform for participants to engage with and explore the complexities of feminism. Through meaningful encounters and exposure to diverse perspectives, participants gained insights into the intersectionality of feminism and its relevance to their individual and cultural contexts. The heart of the project was the exhibition weekend organized by the participants allowing participants to express themselves and show their identities. The positive impact on their understanding of feminism was evident in the reflections shared during discussions, indicating a heightened awareness of the need for empowerment and solidarity among FLINTA*-people. The creation of a safer space was meant to offer a supportive environment to express themselves freely without fear of judgment and to foster a sense of belonging and community. Through this, the project wanted to contribute to breaking down barriers and creating a space where FLINTA* individuals felt validated and heard. Furthermore, the project aimed to give participants a voice in shaping their understanding of feminism and their roles in society. The positive impact was observed in the newfound confidence with which participants articulated their thoughts and experiences. By actively engaging with the project, participants were not only exposed to different perspectives but were also empowered to share their unique stories, contributing to a more nuanced and inclusive dialogue about feminism.
