Objectives

The project, #EcoSmart: Building Smart and Green Communities, aimed to empower youth workers and engage young people in sustainable development and the creation of sustainable smart communities. The objectives were to: Educate participants on the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their relevance to youth work. Enhance the employability skills of young people by fostering leadership, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy. Promote the inclusion of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, migrants, and refugees, facilitating their engagement in an intercultural environment and active citizenship. Encourage the development and implementation of sustainable smart community projects by equipping participants with the necessary tools, knowledge, and skills through non-formal and informal learning methods. Foster cooperation and exchange of best practices among youth workers across Europe, enhancing the quality and impact of youth work related to sustainability and digital innovation. By achieving these objectives, the project aimed to contribute to the creation of environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive communities, empower young leaders and innovators, and promote the values of sustainability, inclusion, and active European citizenship.
