Discrimination to oppressed people are increasing day by day and we are aware of how this can be more dangerous in the future and because of this reason, we wanted to come together with youth organizations which are sharing similar values/approaches and discuss/develop an action plan together. Our project was based on this great proverb: “Until the lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter”. All we wanted was to teach people how to tell stories. We also wanted to train youth workers not only about how to tell their 'stories' but also digitizing them so that they could increase awareness about oppression/discrimination in their societies and during our training course, they learned how to digitize it as well. Together with our partner organizations, we have been discussing this issue and we believe that learning about storytelling and digitize our problems, our works would have a big impact in the society. Collecting the stories of oppressed people (needs, dreams, fears, personal stories, journeys, expectations, goals, hopes, competences, skills, contributions), they can provide the real facts for promoting therefore an inclusive and tolerant society, able to recognize and value personal talents and to empower them. We will have so many positive outcomes, life changing stories in a long term. The overall aim of the training course was to develop and promote a new positive narrative of inclusion through creative and innovative youth work activities. To train youth workers and youth leaders by giving the chance to young Europeans and especially to oppressed ones so that they can share their stories in order to increase awareness with the needs of the communities they live in. Our objectives were: - To contribute in the integration of oppressed people; - To promote inclusion, tolerance and mutual understanding / fight against discrimination, racism and stereotypes; - To promote a change of perception towards oppressed ones (because of their gender, their skins, their religions, being a refugee/migrant and because of their even their life styles etc.); - To analyse stereotyping and prejudging and reasons behind them; - To raise awareness on the feelings, hopes, needs, fears, dreams, expectations, competences and skills of oppressed people and on their positive contribution to local communities; - To learn/create new tools both non-formal and digital tools to be used in the youth work; - Offer an opportunity to meet partner groups and develop concrete ideas for future projects focusing on oppression, cultural diversity, and active participation of young people in order to prevent any kind of discrimination; - Increase knowledge about Erasmus + Programme in order to develop new projects in the future, - Develop skills and attitudes to motivate Youth Workers to create their own workshops, media content, videos and other artistically activities, increasing awareness. These objectives will be reached by not only by our training course but also connect our participants with some local activities that each partner already committed to implement at the local level.
