The project “The Spectrum of Power” was developed with the aim of fostering young people’s critical engagement with questions of power relations, gender justice, and diversity. The starting point was the observation that many young people – particularly those from disadvantaged or marginalized groups – are underrepresented in social and political life and experience structural discrimination. The project therefore pursued several central objectives: -Raising awareness of social power structures and intersectional discrimination – especially in relation to gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and social background. -Strengthening personal and social skills of young participants through non-formal educational formats that place self-reflection, critical thinking, and empowerment at the center. -Supporting peer learning and collective action in order to enable participants to initiate processes of change within their communities. -Creating a safe space for dialogue and intercultural exchange, where diversity can be experienced and reflected upon as a strength. In addition, the project aimed to promote active participation in democratic life, to increase the visibility of queer and other marginalized perspectives, and to build international networks among youth organizations with similar concerns.
