The primary aim of this project was to address the growing concerns regarding mental health and nervous system understanding among youth workers and young people. Influenced by recent global crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic, ongoing conflicts, and natural disasters, the need to provide support and education in these areas has become increasingly apparent. The direct experiences of our Turkish partners following the devastating earthquakes highlighted the urgent need to focus on mental health resilience and nervous system education. With this project, we aimed to train the youth workers to support themselves better (to create a long-term behavioral change in a positive way) and to increase the quality of the work they do with their target group by strengthening the wellbeing of young people as role models. Our objectives were to: - Increase the knowledge and understanding of 18 youth workers on nervous system regulation and mental health through different perspectives such as polyvagal theory, somatic experiences, neuroplasticity etc during 13 months of project - To make the 18 youth workers acquire new skills and competencies by equipping them with different, easy-to-apply practices, exercises and tools to combat stress in their life by during 13 months of project - To enhance the usage of different tools for promotion of overall well being by working with young people by 18 youth workers during 7 months pilot activities of the project - To share experiences and good practices to learn through peer-support for 18 participants during 13 months.
