The project aimed to raise awareness of non-visible illnesses and take young people seriously in the current phase of their lives in the environment in which they live. This is because studies indicate that, on the one hand, "mental health" as a topic is increasingly present in the media (influencers, books, videos), with a partial removal of taboos, while at the same time diagnoses in the areas of depression, burn-out, self-harm, eating disorders and suicides are rising sharply, especially among young people (e.g. Bermer, youth study, etc.). The aim of the youth conference and its preparation was to expand factual knowledge, reduce stigma and explore options for action. We wanted to use methods of non-formal learning and peer education to encourage young people to feel self-efficacy and return to their local contexts stronger than before.
