In implementing the project, our overarching goal was to empower young migrants to transform their own social challenges into entrepreneurial opportunities. The focus was not only on promoting business-related skills, but on a holistic empowerment approach that fosters social inclusion, self-initiative, and intercultural self-efficacy. The specific objectives of the project can be summarized as follows: 1. Promoting social entrepreneurship competences 2. Developing realistic and socially relevant business ideas 3. Strengthening self-initiative and the sense of agency among young migrants 4. Building a sustainable network of support and collaboration 5. Improving European cooperation in the field of integration and youth work 6. Enhancing the professional and institutional capacities of the partner organizations
Young migrants in Europe — particularly in our partner countries Germany, Ireland, and Italy — are significantly underrepresented in the fields of start-ups and entrepreneurship. They often lack access to information, networks, motivation, and concrete support in developing their own social projects or business models. Our target group consists of young immigrants aged 18 to 25 who have been living in the host country for no more than five years. Many of them live in unstable social situations and face a wide range of everyday challenges — in the education system, in accessing the labor market, when dealing with public authorities, or within their social environment. A central problem is that there are hardly any educational formats that genuinely address these young people’s lived realities. Existing offers in the field of entrepreneurship are often too theoretical, too formalized, or culturally inaccessible. At the same time, many of these young people possess valuable experiences, empathy, and creative ideas that — within the right structures — can be developed into entrepreneurial potential.
