Objectives

Aarhus University is a research-intensive university that aspires to the highest international quality. It is our vision to excel in creating value through knowledge, new insights and collaboration. To achieve its internationalisation goals, Aarhus University’s participation in the Erasmus+ programme is of vital importance. The Erasmus+ programme provides the framework and the funding that make it possible to carry out the strategy goals for both international cooperation and for global mobility. Aarhus University is a member of the European University Alliance, Circle U., a partnership that holds significant strategic value for the entire institution. The focus is on developing high-quality educational and collaborative opportunities for both students and staff. The Erasmus+ grants available to our students and staff for exchanges with alliance partners are also essential in achieving the alliance’s ambitious mobility goals. At Aarhus University, it is an established goal, that degree programmes contain a mobility window to allow all students to benefit from an internship or a study experience abroad. The policy objectives of the participation in the Erasmus+ programme are linked to both outbound mobility and to receiving mobile participants on campus. The new perspectives they bring to the classroom contribute to intercultural understanding, multidisciplinary and globalisation. It is an important goal of the Aarhus University staff policy that staff members continue to develop their competencies. Staff members are encouraged to seek inspiration and professional development by going abroad and by collaborating with partner institutions/collaborators.
