Objectives

DTU is internationally renowned as an elite polytechnic research institution, educating outstanding and innovative engineers mastering technologies for the benefit of people and society. Internationalization, therefore, is a highly prioritized core element in all facets of daily operation as well as in the overarching institutional strategies. All DTU students are encouraged to study or do an internship abroad as part of their degree. Further, the high number of incoming international students (exchange and full degree) and staff members offer a unique international campus atmosphere and a great arena for internationalization "at home". DTU's internationalization strategy is implemented through a broad range of activities. From the student led "Culture Hub" to participation in large university alliances with partner universities in Scandinavia, Europe and the rest of the world. Activities include student and staff exchanges, joint and dual study programmes, recruitment of international full degree students and staff, as well as collaborations in research and innovation. Participation in the Erasmus+ programme has for many years played an important role in fulfilling this international mission, by supporting outgoing student and staff mobilities and by facilitating incoming exchanges from partners throughout Europe and beyond.
