Objectives

Syddansk Musikkonservatorium (Danish National Academy of Music) consider itself as an international orientated institution and has been an active part in mobility and network activities within the Erasmus (and other frameworks) for more than three decades. The interest and participation from students and staff has been growing and – within the last decade most notable in staff mobilities (STT/STA) . Despite the relatively small size of the institution (260 students) the relative interest is considered good (44 mobilities within Erasmus alone during this project period). By implementing the project we wanted to achieve several goals: the mobility of students in order to apply and carry out reciprocal exchange studies with partner institutions, participate in possible large scale projects and encourage STA and STT mobility of teachers and staff in order to keep the institution updated on international matters and secure a strong bond with leading institutions in Europe. Besides the artistic and educational core of the institution’s raison d'être, internationalization has always been an integral part of being a musician. It would be contra productive not taking part in the possibilities that are offered in eg. Erasmus+.
