The project was created as a response to work with topics such as discrimination, aggressivity, conflicts in groups and in relationships and problems in their local communities. These topics were identified based on questionnaires from our partner organisations, where the mentioned topics was something 98% of young people in their local community are struggling with. To narrow the topic, the project's aim was to give the participants competences and methods to analyse the social conflicts, to provide them with examples and insight on how to act wisely, and being active so as to become leaders in the civil society. The goal of “Transformation Europe Lab” was to provide an overview on how to build communities via community organising and non-violent direct actions (NVDA). In the modern age with the migration crisis, climate crisis, post-pandemic recovery, international war and extremism on the rise across Europe, we feel the urge of equipping youth workers with skills of community development, which they can transfer to youth. Based on the goals of the training this are the main the objectives that Transformation Europe Lab aimed at achieving through its implementation: 1) promoting peacebuilding by introducing past successful non-violent actions that made a real impact. 2) giving skills and tools for transforming conflicts in both personal and professional life. 3) making participants aware of their role in civic society and promote activism and responsibility 4) build on participant's current competencies in non-formal education and peacebuilding 5) make participants able to spread the ideas and knowledge on non-violent actions to young people Europe-wide. During the training the aim was to make the participants realise how important their role is as active citizens of the EU, especially during this transformation period, where active participation is crucial. Additionally there was focus on how this can be multiplied in their local community to promote these values and knowledge successfully. Main aspiration was to successfully implement a training course, where the participants gained competences and methods to understand and become community organisers, to create an action plan and to implement the action plan back in their local community, in order to multiply the outcome of the training course.
