The Erasmus+ mobility of higher education students and staff is pivotal for Tallinn University’s internationalisation strategy. Our goal was to facilitate student and staff exchanges, foster cultural understanding, language skills, and academic enrichment. Through this project, a specific objective was also to increase the number of outgoing mobilities and to maximise the use of the scholarships granted. We believe that our students’ and staff’s exposure to diverse environments enhances global perspectives and contributes to a more interconnected academic community. In addition, we placed strong emphasis on supporting short-term student mobilities, ensuring that Erasmus+ opportunities were accessible to a wider range of students, including those who might otherwise not be able to participate in longer exchanges. We also prioritised the organisation and development of Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) (although we did not apply for support for organising BIPs during this project), recognising them as innovative tools for combining digital and physical mobility, strengthening cooperation between partner institutions, and making international experiences more inclusive. Furthermore, we worked on embedding Erasmus+ horizontal priorities and practices into the daily life of the university. This included promoting sustainability in mobility, advancing digitalisation in both administrative and academic processes, and ensuring inclusiveness and equal access to mobility opportunities for all students and staff. In addition our attention was on inclusion and the support that was possible to offer to the students who fell into the aforementioned category. Significant efforts were made internally yet again within the university to disseminate information regarding opportunities in the Erasmus+ programme so that the participants and the university could make the most of them (inclusion support, BIPs, etc). For example we had more short-traineeship mobilities than ever, since the university staff was actively trying to find different placement possibilities for our students.
