Promoting gender equality

Objectives

Our Reasons for Implementing Our Project Gender equality is expressed as the equal inclusion, visibility, empowerment, representation and participation of individuals in all areas of social life without gender-based discrimination. This approach is important in the context of overcoming the existing obstacles of women in the social sphere and taking precautions accordingly. Producing measures to ensure equality between men and women at the local level rather than the center has an important place in the context of spreading gender equality throughout the world. A number of indices are created by international institutions such as the UN, the EU, the World Economic Forum and some countries to measure equality between men and women, to reveal the dimensions of gender inequality, to determine the levels of gender inequality between countries and regions, and to make comparisons between them. In this context, according to the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap 2023 Report, which measures the change in gender inequality in 4 main areas: "economic participation and opportunity", "educational gains", "health and survival" and "political empowerment" in 146 countries. , the pace of progress made to eliminate gender inequality in the world has slowed down significantly due to various crises. According to research, although 100 percent gender equality has not been achieved in any country in the world, Iceland ranked first in this regard with 91.2 percent and has been the country with the highest rate for 14 years in a row. This rate was determined as 87.9 percent in Norway, 86.3 percent in Finland, 85.6 percent in New Zealand and 81.5 percent in Sweden. The gender equality rate was 81.5 percent in Germany, 81.1 percent in Nicaragua, 80.2 percent in Namibia, 80 percent in Lithuania and 79.6 percent in Belgium. Belgium was among the 10 countries with the highest gender equality for the first time, while Afghanistan was the country with the lowest gender equality measured at 40 percent. According to the needs analysis we made based on this problem, we implemented our project to contribute to the creation of individual and social awareness on gender equality. With the activities we carried out for this purpose, we wanted to contribute to raising awareness about gender equality from business life to social life, developing solution suggestions and raising public awareness on this issue. For all these reasons, we carried out our project in order to support raising awareness about the need to ensure gender equality and to create awareness about the need to create new policies on gender equality. Specific Goals of Our Project *We contributed to raising awareness about gender equality. *We supported the participants in creating awareness of the need to gain awareness about gender equality and social roles. *We helped raise awareness about what needs to be done to prevent gender inequality. *We supported the participants in gaining awareness by drawing attention to the need to eliminate roles limited by gender discrimination. *We encouraged the participants to participate in the work that needs to be done to ensure social equality.
