Objectives

The overarching goal of our Training course (TC) "Time to be in good spirit" is to significantly enhance the professional and personal capacities of youth workers, empowering them to better support young people in their respective communities. This project is designed to address some critical needs within the youth work sector, ensuring that youth workers are better equipped to handle the complexities of their roles. Here’s what we aimed to achieve: - Building capacity to cope with stress: Youth work can be demanding and stressful, especially when there is a war going on now, the political climate in the world in general is not very calm, as well as the consequences of covid. We wanted to provide youth workers with effective strategies to manage stress and navigate challenging situations with resilience. By fostering a stronger capacity to cope with stress, we aimed to support youth workers in maintaining their well-being and effectiveness in their roles. - Developing emotional intelligence: Emotional intelligence is crucial for anyone working closely with people, especially young individuals. We aimed to help youth workers develop a deeper understanding of their own emotions and the emotions of others. This development would enhance their ability to connect with, support, and guide young people through their various challenges. - Enhancing communication skills: Effective communication is at the heart of successful youth work. We focused on improving the communication skills of youth workers to help them manage conflicts better, engage in active listening, and provide appropriate support and guidance to young people. This improvement would facilitate better relationships and more impactful youth work. To achieve these overarching goals, we established several specific objectives for our TC. First of all, one of our main objectives was to equip youth workers with practical tools and strategies that they can use to build resilience, enhance emotional intelligence, and improve their communication skills. These tools are designed to be immediately applicable in their day-to-day work with young people. Secondly, we aimed to elevate the quality and impact of youth work across the participating countries by providing comprehensive professional development opportunities for youth workers. Through structured training sessions, workshops, and hands-on activities, we sought to foster continuous professional growth and development. Another key objective was to promote cross-cultural learning and networking among youth workers from different countries. By facilitating exchanges and collaborative activities, we aimed to foster a greater understanding and cooperation across cultural and national boundaries. This cross-cultural interaction is crucial for broadening perspectives and enhancing the overall quality of youth work. From our point of view, by focusing on these objectives, we aspired to support the holistic development of youth workers, thereby improving the quality of youth work and promoting collaborative efforts across diverse cultural contexts. Through this project, we hoped to create a ripple effect, where well-equipped and emotionally intelligent youth workers can positively influence the young people they work with, leading to stronger and more resilient communities.
