The objectives of the International Relations Offices (IROs) at both campuses, in relation to the present Project, were as follows: the maximum possible absorption of available funds; the increase in the number of mobilities combined with the provision of high-quality studies; the recognition of courses and traineeships; and the assurance of high-quality services. Furthermore, emphasis was placed on the development and organisation of new forms of mobility, such as short-term mobility and blended intensive programmes (BIPs), as well as on strengthening the internationalisation of the Institution. Another key objective was the systematic communication with students and staff, both within the Institution and with members of other Higher Education Institutions and organisations in Greece and abroad. The IROs worked actively on the promotion and organisation of information and awareness-raising events, held both in person and online, targeting students and staff (academic, technical, and administrative) interested in mobility opportunities through the Erasmus+ Programme. These actions included, among others, the promotion of blended and short-term mobilities. At the same time, actions were implemented to further internationalisation and to establish or update inter-institutional agreements. Frequent communication was also maintained with the National Agency, as well as with embassies and consulates, to ensure the smooth completion of mobilities and the adaptation of the Institution to the new opportunities offered by the Programme. To enhance student mobilities for traineeships, the IROs cooperated effectively with the Technical University of Crete Consortium. Within the framework of the Erasmus without Paper (EWP)/Dashboard system, inter-institutional agreements were systematically uploaded, despite technical difficulties that occasionally arose (e.g. involvement of third-party providers) concerning the interoperability of systems of certain European universities. Finally, in line with the safety and protection regulations for participants set by the competent authorities, the Institution strictly followed the guidelines of the National Agency and collaborated with relevant Ministries and services, both within and outside the Institution, whenever deemed necessary (e.g. in the management of online fraud incidents).
