Objectives

The Ionian University's strategy for internationalization and modernization establishes as its primary goal an active presence and engagement within the international academic environment. The institution's internationalization policy is intricately linked to the process of digitalization and the comprehensive modernization of its structures across all levels (teaching, administration, infrastructure). This strategy encompasses specific staff training activities designed to familiarize personnel with the university's digital roadmap and its connection to international awareness. The Erasmus Programme serves as the core pilot initiative for this digital transformation, leveraging all existing tools. It facilitates a broader international vision through mobility and exchange opportunities for researchers, academic, and administrative staff, as well as students. Participants (both students and staff) acquire high-quality knowledge and experience, which enables them to work and develop professionally within an international setting, gaining access to internationalized (multilingual) curricula. The main objectives of this specific project were to significantly increase the number of participants following two years of cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to expand and deepen Inter-Institutional agreements with HEIs in Programme Countries, Associated Countries, and Third Countries.
