The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), during the implementation of the mobility project 2023-1-EL01-KA131-HED-000138637, had as its primary objective, within the framework of its internationalization strategy, the further development of its activities and collaborations, both at the European level and within the broader international context. The project aimed at expanding partnerships by broadening the fields of study covered by existing bilateral agreements, as well as establishing new collaborations with additional European higher education institutions, and at increasing the number of student hosting organizations in all countries participating in the Erasmus+ programme. Most importantly, however, its main pursuit was the enhancement of the quality of services provided to all participants across all types of mobility activities. More specifically, NKUA sought to maximize student mobility for studies to and from partner higher education institutions with which it had concluded bilateral agreements, to increase short-term mobility mostly within the framework of Blended Intensive Programs for students at all study cycles, particularly for those unable to participate in long-term mobility, the boost short-term mobilities for PhD candidates through the activation of the action, to expand student and recent graduate mobility for internships in organizations (both private and public) in Erasmus+ participating countries in Europe as well as in third countries not associated with the programme -primarily from Regions 13 & 14-, to increase incoming mobility of students φορ and recent graduates for internships within NKUA departments, and to enhance staff mobility for teaching and training purposes. Furthermore, NKUA aimed to improve and accelerate the management of support services for both incoming and outgoing students and staff, thereby improving the overall quality of services offered. Finally, NKUA coordinated 11 Blended Intensive Programs (10 of which were funded and one not funded due to fact that did not meet the minimum participant requirement), within the framework of the CIVIS European University in which NKUA participates. Through these programs, creativity, collaboration, the development of participants’ critical thinking, and their encouragement for further research were successfully promoted within the framework of the CIVIS European University, in which NKUA participates.
