Our deep motivation for this project was to honor democracy by developing performing skills through women's aging bodies. Kinitiras has been always supporting women, of all ages, to find the strength within them to develop and cultivate skills that transform them into active participatory citizens of Europe and the world. The project Maturing Korai gave the opportunity to women aged 50+, from different socio-economical background, to reintroduce themselves through the exploration and development of their performative skills. It created a diverse space of acceptance and creativity through which they regained their strength and leadership skills after the pandemic. It also enabled all the participants (learners and practitioners) to overcome social stereotypes and prejudice. When people learn to perform together, they learn more than new steps and text: They learn new ways of seeing and being with one another.
