KNOW4FARM aimed to enhance the capacity of VET systems to respond to the evolving needs of the agricultural sector, particularly in the context of digitalisation, sustainability, and climate resilience, by introducing Precision Agriculture Technologies as practical, innovative solutions. Specifically, it aimed to: - Align agricultural VET with real-world sector needs, by integrating digital tools and applications that support sustainable and precision-based farming practices, - Build digital and theoretical competences and enhance practical skills of 45+ VET trainers through a Digital Handbook, Workshops - Field Visits & Interactive Webinars, - Address agri-tech skill shortages through foundational knowledge and hands-on training, - Support EU strategies (Green Deal, Farm to Fork, CAP) by promoting resource efficiency and climate-smart farming, - Foster transnational cooperation among organisations with complementary expertise, enabling the exchange of good practices & the creation of a lasting network for agricultural VET excellence, - Empower VET educators and municipalities to transfer knowledge, boost rural vitality, and act as multipliers of innovation & sustainability in agriculture locally and across Europe.
The KNOW4FARM Consortium applied for this project to address a growing skills gap in the agricultural sector, especially in relation to Precision Agriculture Technologies (PAT). Farmers and agri-workers are expected to apply digital tools for sustainability and productivity, yet VET providers lacked the training, content, and capacity to prepare learners for these changes. In Greece, Türkiye, and Belgium, this gap was especially visible in rural and agricultural areas, where access to innovation and infrastructure is limited. The project responded to the need for: (1) practical and digital upskilling of VET professionals, (2) alignment of training with EU strategies like the Green Deal, Farm to Fork, and CAP, and (3) transnational cooperation to share good practices. KNOW4FARM Consortium developed user-friendly, multilingual resources and hands-on training to support the green and digital transition in agriculture and foster inclusive, future-oriented VET.
