Objectives

Education Past the Nation focused on the topic of social cohesion and integration of marginalized youth and in our case migrant youth through the implementation of activities that fully complied with the overall Erasmus+ Programme priorities and objectives. Overall, it aimed to promote the necessity of youth’s active stance and participation within their communities and emphasize the importance of inclusion, acceptance and tolerance in societies. Moreover, by uniting five partner organizations, the project aimed to build a transnational network of migrant-friendly organizations across Europe. Good practices and success stories from various EU countries were shared and studied with the participants and invited guests, including speakers, experts, and individuals with extensive experience on the topic. The project also aimed to identify the needs and obstacles arising from the integration process, considering the pressures on both local society and the refugees. This paved the way for suggestions on how to effectively address these issues, providing efficient and long-term solutions. More importantly, EduPast managed to bring together young people from the local society and those directly experiencing these challenges, aiming to bridge the gap of understanding and initiate a fruitful dialogue that would result in actual change. EduPast aimed to offer migrant youth a space where they could discuss their difficulties and share them with the locals. Additionally, it aimed to guide its participants to increase their knowledge of EU migration policies, discuss ways to develop and implement good practices, and address the topics of tolerance, respect, and acceptance. In this same spirit the youth exchange activity sought to spark conversations about developing inclusive practices and building a transnational network of migrant-friendly youth and organizations.
