The "BEYOND CRISIS" project aimed to enhance the skills and competencies of youth workers in crisis management and peace building, ensuring that they are better equipped to respond to various crises within their communities. The project sought to empower youth workers to provide timely and effective support during crisis situations, which can range from natural disasters to social conflicts, while fostering social cohesion and resilience among young people. A key objective was to promote intercultural dialogue, tolerance, and inclusion, thereby reducing tensions and preventing conflict escalation. Additionally, the project aimed to create a collaborative network among youth workers from diverse countries such as Turkey, Greece, Poland, Lithuania, Croatia, Hungary, and Bulgaria. Through this network, participants exchanged best practices and developed new methodologies that promoted peacebuilding and crisis management. The "BEYOND CRISIS" project included a 5-day training program from 22-26 May 2024 in Thessaloniki, Greece, where 35 youth workers from the seven countries participated. This international collaboration further enhanced the scope of the project by fostering cross-cultural exchange and allowing participants to develop and share best practices in crisis management and peacebuilding. Through hands-on activities and interactive sessions, the youth workers gained practical skills and tools to address crises and promote social cohesion in their respective communities. This 5-day training was enriched by the involvement and direct engagement with local bodies like the " Elite Special Task Force of Thessaloniki" - EPOMEA Thessaloniki, ensuring that the final training program was comprehensive and practical. Furthermore, the project aimed to involve young people in crisis management initiatives, enabling them to become active advocates for positive change in their communities. By involving youth in the project activities, the program aimed to empower them to take ownership of the peacebuilding process, encouraging them to become active participants in shaping their communities. This active engagement contributes to their personal growth, leadership skills, and sense of responsibility as future advocates for peace and social justice. By demonstrating the value of youth workers in crisis management and peacebuilding, the project aimed to position youth work as an essential element in addressing contemporary challenges in Europe and beyond. The ultimate goal was to strengthen the capacity of youth workers and their organizations to contribute to more resilient, peaceful, and inclusive communities while aligning with the broader objectives of the Erasmus+ program and Youth Workers Mobility.
