Objectives

Social Entrepreneurship is a distinct form of entrepreneurship which aims to achieve a social purpose through the creation of social value. It aims to solve pressing problems, such as environmental protection, education, health services, poverty, energy, water resources, etc. Tackling the problem it undertakes is placed at the center of the activities of the social enterprise and its solution often comes with the application of innovative approaches. In today's era, where problems in many sectors of the economy, society and environment are evident, social entrepreneurship hopes to provide an answer aiming to solve specific problems, but in an economically sustainable way (not relying on grants). At the same time, social entrepreneurship is a sector of the economy that promotes cooperation between people with different experiences and specializations, who use their skills interrelatedly for the creation and development of social enterprises. Skills development is at the heart of this area, as is the inclusion of people from different backgrounds and with different abilities. The idea for the implementation of this project was born through the successful implementation of our first project in ERASMUS+ entitled "Let the Light Flow" whose main activity was a youth exchange on the topic of social entrepreneurship. Seeing how young people responded to the issue and always aiming to further promote social entrepreneurship, mainly among young people, as through their professional development, but also as a tool for solving social problems in an economically sustainable way, we decided to go one step further, creating, with the help of experienced trainers, in creating a training seminar aimed at youth workers, who will be able to pass on the knowledge they will get to the young people they work with, maximizing the impact of the project and promoting the concept and values of Social Entrepreneurship even more. Something that is demonstrated by the title of the present project "Let the Light Spread!". The project, therefore, came to cover the need for youth workers to better understand the concept, parameters and principles of social entrepreneurship, so that they can pass this knowledge on to the young people they work with, showing them an alternative way of professional activity which directly benefits both the young people who will be employed and society and helping them to develop their skills, both in terms of entrepreneurship and taking initiatives, as well as at a personal and social level. Our specific objectives through the implementation of this project were: - To support the participating youth workers in understanding the concept and parameters of Social Entrepreneurship, as well as what the role of young people can be in this field. - Contribute to the development of capacities by the participants that will allow them to be able, using non-formal learning methods, to support the young people they work with, with an emphasis on young people with fewer opportunities, to be empowered and to acquire tools that will help them actively participate in the field of Social Entrepreneurship. - To introduce participants to new non-formal learning methods and tools, including digital tools, that will help them improve the services they offer to young people. - To present digital youth work tools that contribute to capacity building both through face2face activities and online - To demonstrate in practice the "green" nature of social entrepreneurship. - The development of partnerships between the participating organisations, so that they can develop their international activity and their capacity for intercultural cooperation - The development of the capacity of the participating organisations to support the young people with whom they work, and especially the young people with fewer opportunities, in the development of knowledge and skills that benefit them at a personal, social and professional level and can be adapted to the reality not only of Society in which they live, but also in wider Europe.
