Objectives

The main objective of the Project at hand is to provide the University community with a framework for learning and academic exchange, for teachers and researchers, as well as for staff, in a way that is visible, straightforward, and efficient that will enable students, administrative staff and university professors to develop new skills through international mobility. The project is developed within the University of Huelva community, for all its members, and has had and hopes to have a significant impact on the city and province, as well as at both the national and international level. This objective is reinforced with the European Alliance PIONEER, coordinated by the Gustave Eiffel University. The University of Huelva (UHU) is preparing to implement an exciting project that will have a cross-cutting impact on our governance, teaching and research activities, knowledge transfer, and international outreach. In addition, the University of Huelva has brought together a strong group of partners, including the City Hall of Huelva, the College of Architects, the Andalusian Hydrogen Business Cluster, Andalucía Entrepreneurship, Spain with ACNUR Association, and the Climate Research Foundation. Returning to the project at hand, the results presented in the report and the evidence from the courses completed at the host universities show that the students have made good academic use of their stays. These experiences have also prepared them for their professional and personal futures, enhancing both their skills and their self-confidence. Staff have enhanced their skills in internationalizing their professional profiles and are better equipped to implement changes that modernize and open up their units internationally. The university benefits not only by expanding students’ learning opportunities but also by strengthening its regional and national presence, giving it strategic importance. This has been made possible thanks to the Governing Team’s support for the International Relations Office, specialized staff, and internationalization initiatives, including the six annual Internationalization Plans approved since 2018. These efforts have professionalized the team and enabled effective data management, despite some challenges, demonstrating: a) the consolidation of student exchanges, b) the ongoing commitment of faculty, and c) growing involvement of faculty and PTGAS in training stays. The activities summarized in the report show that our Office ensures an efficient process before, during, and after SM and ST stays. University services consistently support staff training, while faculty members act as international academic coordinators to ensure the success of exchanges. Many faculty also actively welcome E+ international guests, integrating them with other international students for seminars, conferences, innovation projects, and initiatives such as K2 and K171. This project’s innovation lies in expanding international mobility. The first Erasmus+ GLOBAL staff mobility call included both teaching faculty (PDI) and administrative/technical staff (PTGAS), divided into two sections: institutions with prior agreements and those without. Mobilities took place to countries including Argentina, Canada, the USA, Chile, Ecuador, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Mauritius, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Bhutan, and Tanzania. This broad international engagement has been highly beneficial for both participants and the University of Huelva (UHU), with this year marking the highest number of outgoing ST mobilities since the program began. Contributions from KA171 and the TransfrontEU and LiderÁfrica consortia are also included. Additionally, the regular call for students included international universities, with four students traveling to Chile, Peru, and the USA. The quality of the Erasmus+ project is supported by awards received, including the SEPIE Quality Recognition, the Best Practice in Service Administration for “Good Practices in the Internationalization of UHU,” and the OEI Quality Practices Award in Internationalization Plans and Strategies.
