Objectives

As we said in our application for the ECHE charter, one of the main reasons why we decided to apply for the ECHE charter in order to have an Erasmus+ project in Higher Education was to contribute to the internationalisation of our school, as we also have an Erasmus project in the fields of School and Vocational Training. In this way, our Higher Vocational Training students could carry out their training in a company in another country thanks to the Erasmus+ programme, crossing borders, opening their minds and living a unique experience not only on a personal level, but also professionally, and giving them the opportunity to learn or improve a language, get to know a new culture and a new way of working, among others. We are aware of the importance of living an experience abroad nowadays and we think that it should be a compulsory experience for all students. Unfortunately, not all students would be able to afford it financially; that is why we are committed to the Erasmus+ programme to benefit those students who, without this help, would not even be able to travel to another country. On the other hand, the Erasmus+ programme also offers opportunities for the teaching staff, who can benefit from getting to know another Higher Education institution and observe different ways of working and new perspectives, as well as getting to know directly companies where higher vocational training students carry out their FCT in other countries. All this, in addition to enriching the teaching staff directly both personally and professionally, also translates, indisputably, into an improvement in the educational quality of our centre, benefiting our students and the entire educational community.
