When the Universitat Jaume I applied for this Erasmus project, our expectations closely aligned with our mission to foster internationalization, strengthen academic excellence, and provide transformative opportunities for both students and staff. Exchange and mobility programs are central to this commitment, as they not only promote academic growth but also foster intercultural understanding, language proficiency, and the development of essential professional and personal skills for employability in today's global society. Two university services, IRO and Careers Service, coordinate various aspects of this project. Thanks to this project, over 350 students and staff members have directly benefited from their participation in exchange and mobility activities. These experiences have broadened their perspectives, enhanced their employability, and strengthened their sense of belonging to a wider European and international academic community. For staff, mobility opportunities have provided valuable avenues for training, teaching, and exchanging best practices, driving a stronger institutional culture of innovation and collaboration. Beyond the individual impact, the project has allowed Universitat Jaume I to strengthen its ties with key stakeholders—especially with our partner universities across Europe and other program countries and with relevant employers. These collaborations have fortified our academic networks, created opportunities for joint initiatives, and contributed to the development of long-term strategic alliances. These connections have been essential for positioning our university as an active and trusted partner in the international higher education landscape in Europe. The overall goal of SMT is for students to gain the cultural benefits of studying or working in European countries and to assimilate other European realities in both the professional and university fields. Specifically, this program aims to: 1) support the acquisition of skills, personal development, and employability in the European labor market; 2) improve language proficiency; 3) cultivate an awareness of and understanding of other cultures to develop European citizenship; 4) increase the capacity, attractiveness, and international dimension of participating partners; and 5) strengthen synergies between formal and non-formal university studies, career guidance, employment, and entrepreneurship. This has been achieved by improving skills in seven fields of study, facilitating the transition to the labor market, and combating youth unemployment by increasing employability. Internally, the implementation of the Erasmus project has also driven the continuous improvement of our policies and procedures. We have been reviewing and updating our internal frameworks to ensure that the management of mobility programs is efficient, transparent, and aligned with the highest quality standards. This process of reflection and improvement has not only strengthened the quality of our exchange and mobility programs but has also reinforced our institutional capacity to drive future growth in international cooperation. In summary, the project has fully met, and in many respects exceeded, our expectations. Erasmus mobility has had a lasting impact on our students, staff, and the institution as a whole, while contributing to the values of solidarity, openness, and mutual understanding that define the European Higher Education Area. The Universitat Jaume I remains firmly committed to maintaining and expanding these efforts in the coming years, building on the success of this project to further promote excellence and inclusion in international education.
