Objectives

In line with our Erasmus plan and educational project, the aim of this project was for the students and teachers at our school to improve their professional, linguistic and personal skills by undertaking work placements or observation periods in European companies and organizations in the sector, and to foster a sense of European citizenship by giving them the opportunity to see first-hand how their professional sector works in other countries and to interact with local and foreign citizens. We wanted to develop this objective in an inclusive and transparent manner, to improve employability and give our students the opportunity to carry out their compulsory work experience placements abroad and add value to them, as well as raising awareness among the educational community of the benefits of the programme. We aimed to carry out long- and short-term mobility programmes for Higher Vocational Training students in all training cycles (Kitchen Management, Restaurant Service Management, Tourist Accommodation Management) and including the new Dietetics programme, which was implemented in 23-24 and had its first graduating class in June 2025. It was a challenge to find a company to start organising mobility programmes for this course, but we have succeeded, both for students and teachers. Two teachers have benefited from the project by spending time observing at a partner centre in Palermo, Italy, with different objectives related to their teaching modules. In addition to what they have learned about their professional interests, they have managed to establish a good relationship with the centre for future teacher mobility in other areas and to help us find and contact companies for our students. Expanding our network of contacts to grow the Erasmus+ project was another of our objectives. We have expanded this network, both to send and receive students and teachers. We believe that visits from teachers at similar centres have a significant impact. These exchanges facilitate communication with teachers at the centre who may not have had or do not intend to participate in mobility programmes for whatever reason, and they benefit from exchanging a variety of professional information, whether in a foreign language or in their own. In this way, we also raise awareness of the Erasmus+ programme and encourage students to participate in the future. Likewise, one of the teachers belongs to the GEP (Multilingual Generation) innovation project, which aims to increase students' exposure to English in non-linguistic subjects, and carries out activities using the CLIL methodology. The jobshadowing has allowed her to refresh and update her English skills in a professional environment. We have achieved our objectives by establishing an increasingly stable working team, with regular fortnightly meetings, which have enabled us to extend the benefits of the programme throughout the educational community and to continue to grow in knowledge and generate increasing interest.
