The CPIFP San Lorenzo is the only public establishment in the province which is characterized since its creation by offering Hospitality and Tourism vocational training in exclusive ( all levels from Basic to Higher Certificate). From the beginning, our centre has promoted teachers' participation in the mobility and knowledge exchange with other centres of study. In a society so globalized and competitive where we live, we should be well informed about what's going on in another countries. There is a continuous updating for teachers and students. As a matter of fact and up to the present moment, we have taken part in different projects such as: - Student exchange with other Hospitality Schools - Different projects: Lingua with Toulouse, Interreg, Pirefop y Poctefa - Two Comenius projects about Culinary and Cultural aspects in collaboration with Swedish, Finnish and French schools. - Participation in Culinary contests in the south of France. - PALE project for Foreign Language Expansion ( English) and European Programmes Promotion. On the other hand, we are and have been mediators in the proposal and choice of enterprises under Leonardo project regulations (now Erasmus +) for our colleagues of the French schools we have cooperated with. We were awarded with the 2010 first prize for a Young Working Community in the Pyrenees" Former à une insertion professionnelle réussie" in cooperation with the Lyceum Charles Cross in Carcassonne. On the other hand, since 2006, we offer bilingual formation in Tourism Studies. Besides, our centre, has the ISO 9001 valid certificate, which states the quality of our studies. The possibility of doing the compulsory working practice period for our students abroad is another advantage in their formative itinerary, decision which is encouraged by our educative centre. The aim is to expand the educational, professional and cultural formation of our students to create a future adaptable citizen to his/her workplace thanks to the cultural and linguistic richness around the EU. Since 2014, our students can choose between a French or English speaking enterprise, according to the modules they study.And since the academic year 2016/2017, we have expanded our destinations including a hotel in Portugal for two of our students. The candidates are selected by the educational team regarding his/her behaviour and level of studies, owning personal qualities to enable them to integrate in an enterprise quickly and in a different culture from their own. At the end of the first year, the students are informed about the possibility of being awarded with an Erasmus grant and everything it takes: being autonomous, looking for means of transport and accommodation or insurance policies. Those who wish to take part in the experience must fill in an application form and the beneficiaries are chosen the following year. Our long-time colleagues in foreign schools are the mediators to find and select enterprises where our students can spend their formative period and are also their port of call for any issue that can appear. At the beginning of the academic year we agree with them the working practice programme to be developed during the third term. In some cases, we travel with the students to their practice places and at the end of the formative period we travel again to do the final evaluation in person, sign future collaboration agreements or fix visits to new enterprises. The follow-up of the working practice period is done on a weekly basis by phone, mail and/ or video conference with the enterprise tutor and the students too. In any case the students must fill in a working practice period official notebook where we can check the performing of all the task registered in their formative programme. On their return to Spain, if the working practice period is considered Apt, the module is validated and the student is able to get his/her Higher Certificate.
