Objectives

One of our primary objectives was the continued strengthening of ties with institutions we had begun to consolidate. We also aimed to explore new institutions that were not solely based on specific student interests but held strategic importance for the school. A fundamental aspect of our expectations was the strengthening of our ties with Lusophone countries. We have always considered Portugal a natural and strategic partner, and this project gave us the opportunity to deepen these relationships even further. In fact, we are proud to highlight that we maintain strong connections with practically all higher education art institutions in Portugal, which greatly facilitates collaboration and exchange in various areas. Furthermore, the project allowed us to explore new geographical frontiers. A mobility to Argentina proved to be a significant milestone, as it opened doors to the Universidad de las Artes in that country, laying the groundwork for future transatlantic collaborations that promise to be very fruitful, offering two-way mobilities. Despite these high expectations and our initial commitment, the project's development was affected by a series of significant internal challenges. We experienced a change in leadership during a crucial period, which naturally led to some instability. Additionally, the person in charge of the international section, a key figure in coordinating these types of initiatives, went on leave, and unfortunately, their vacancy was not filled immediately. This situation created significant gaps in management and follow-up, leading to an increased workload for the rest of the team involved in the project. Although these obstacles prevented us from achieving one hundred percent of the potential that the KA131 project offered, the overall results have been remarkably positive. The robustness of the already established work dynamics and the commitment of the remaining staff allowed the project to move forward and achieve most of its operational objectives. We successfully carried out mobilities and maintained the quality of experiences for the participants, demonstrating the resilience and adaptability of our educational community. Looking ahead, we are optimistic and see a much more promising outlook. We have a new management team that has taken the lead with a clear vision and defined strategies for the school's internationalization. This new leadership enjoys full support from the educational community, which is essential for the success of initiatives of this magnitude. We are convinced that, with this new structure and renewed commitment, we will not only overcome past challenges but also make the most of the opportunities that future projects offer, thus consolidating our school as an international benchmark in art education, with a particular focus on deepening our ties with Lusophone countries and expanding into new regions.
