When starting the Erasmus+ 2023-1-ES01-KA131-HED-000119365 protect, our institution expected to strengthen its internationalisation strategy and make European mobility a key part of Higher Vocational Education and Training. The main goal was to give our students real learning experiences abroad that would complement their academic training, improve their employability and provide them with transversal competences such as autonomy, adaptability, intercultural communication and language skills. We also expected the project to motivate students to take part in international opportunities. Even if our institutional priority has always been to promote long-term mobilities, we knew that, because of new legislation (such as the Dual VET Law) and personal factors (family or emotional reasons), some students could find it difficult to participate. For this reason, we trusted that blended short-term mobilities would serve as a first step, giving students an initial Erasmus experience and encouraging them to try longer stays in the future. At the same time, we expected a clear impact on teachers through training mobilities and job shadowing in other European countries. These experiences were meant to let them observe new methodologies, create links with international centres and share good practices with the rest of the staff, improving teaching quality and the European dimension of our programmes. Another important objective was to progress in inclusion, making sure that the selection criteria considered not only academic and language results, but also factors linked to fewer opportunities. In this way, we expected to guarantee fair, equal and transparent access to mobilities. Finally, the project aimed to reinforce sustainability and digitalisation values. We expected students to use more sustainable transport options in their destinations, and the project management to reduce paper through digital certificates, e-signatures and Google Classroom as a support platform. In short, we expected the project not only to benefit direct participants, but also to have a multiplier effect on the whole school community, improving the international image of the institution, strengthening cooperation with European companies and entities, and consolidating Erasmus+ as a strategic element of our Highschool.
