Objectives

CIFP Profesor Raúl Vázquez offers programs within the Professional Family of Transport and Vehicle Maintenance. Our center is located in the district of Puente de Vallecas in Madrid, a working-class neighborhood in the eastern part of the city. Since 2011, the center has been managing European projects for vocational training. Since then, we have managed around 70 mobility opportunities for vocational education students and 28 mobility opportunities for staff, both at intermediate and advanced levels, which is the focus of this project. Our European internationalization strategy is based on developing vocational training for our students and teachers in a European context, strengthening relationships with other European institutions. Participation in European Mobility Programs is the most important aspect of our international strategy. The project was carried out with the aim of giving students enrolled in the Advanced Vocational Training Programs taught at our center the opportunity to complete their Work Placement Module (F.C.T.) in companies in the vehicle maintenance sector in another European country, specifically Belgium and Germany. This module is part of the curriculum of these programs and carries a workload of 460 hours. Our main challenge is to ensure all participants enjoy a meaningful mobility experience with strong learning outcomes, as well as to foster and strengthen exchanges, cooperation, and mobility within the educational community. The specific objectives related to the collaboration projects have been: To contribute to the development of quality education and training. To help improve the quality, attractiveness, and accessibility of education and training opportunities. To help promote creativity, competitiveness, employability, and entrepreneurial spirit. To encourage greater participation of people of all ages, including those with special needs and those from disadvantaged groups. To promote language learning and linguistic diversity. To make use of information and communication technologies (ICT). To foster European values, tolerance, and respect towards people and cultures. To promote cooperation across all sectors of education and training. To exchange good practices. Our main goal with this project has been to boost the international exposure of students and teachers, providing training experiences abroad that not only improve employability but also strengthen the technical, linguistic, and personal skills of participants. One of our key priorities has been to encourage the participation of students in the aircraft maintenance program, since this is a highly specialized professional profile with strong demand for mobility in the European and international labor market. However, this program usually sees low participation in mobility initiatives, due to the technical complexity of its content, the length and scheduling of internships, as well as the limited availability of companies abroad capable of hosting these students under the strict standards required by aeronautical regulations. With this project, we specifically aimed to reduce those barriers and create an international collaboration network with certified companies and centers in the aeronautical sector, enabling our students to complete part of their practical training in real work contexts outside Spain. This also helps them gain knowledge of new technologies, methodologies, and European regulations—essential aspects in such a highly regulated and constantly evolving sector as aeronautics. In summary, the Erasmus+ program has been a key tool in advancing the true internationalization of our center. However, it should be noted that the students most interested—those in avionics and aeromechanics programs—have not had many opportunities to take part in mobility projects, for reasons that will be explained later, which has made it difficult to carry out the planned mobilities.
