The European journey and participation in Erasmus projects by IES Pérez Galdós has been consolidated after 13 years of carrying them out. The level of success has been very high, including the tumultuous years of the pandemic and afterwards. Therefore, with this project, our intention is to continue developing the process of internationalization and to increase the participation of the educational community as much as possible. After the 2022 project, which we could call the stabilization project, this 2023 project would already be about growth. We have been granted a significant increase in the budget, and therefore, this has translated into an increase in the number of mobilities. This Erasmus project that we are referring to in this report is one of those developed within the internationalization department of our center. It runs simultaneously with those carried out with the intermediate cycles and with the school students. Therefore, all these projects, and particularly those of the higher cycles, contribute to one of the main objectives of our institution. This is to transcend the limitations of living in an archipelago and being an outermost region, promoting opportunities for learning, training, cooperation, and communication among our students, teachers, and the European business world. In turn, continuing the development of international mobilities that were first carried out in the previous project means transcending beyond the European framework. Higher Education Institutions (IES) are necessary to provide another way of being and doing, in a globalized world like the current one, characterized by constant labor and social change. The potential of education and culture should be fully leveraged as a driver for job creation, social justice, and active citizenship, as well as a means of living European, or international identity in its full diversity. The goal we set for ourselves with this project is to continue developing the internationalization of the institute, supporting actions beyond the local level, in an open and flexible environment. At the same time, we aim to achieve the objectives that our center has outlined in the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education.
