Objectives

The HED project aimed at higher-level vocational education students has as its fundamental goal to enhance the successful transition of learners to higher education, the labor market, and high-level professional development. From its inception, an integrated approach was designed to overcome barriers that limit access, retention, and performance in higher education, particularly for young people with technical and vocational training. Specifically, the project aims to achieve the following main objectives: Improve the academic preparation and transversal competencies of higher vocational education students, enabling them to acquire a level of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that allow them to successfully face academic and professional challenges in university studies or advanced training cycles. The project intends to serve as a bridge between vocational education and higher education, mitigating curricular and methodological differences. Promote academic and professional international mobility, through training stays in universities, technology centers, and leading European companies. This international experience is expected to enrich students' competence profiles, improve their language skills and intercultural abilities, and increase their opportunities for integration into global labor markets. Develop advanced digital competencies and innovative learning methodologies, integrating technological tools, educational platforms, and digital resources that contribute to modernizing the training process and the continuous improvement of students. These competencies are expected to facilitate adaptation to increasingly digitalized work and educational environments. Enhance personalized academic and professional guidance and counseling, through the design and implementation of tutoring, mentoring, and individualized monitoring strategies. The objective is for students to clearly define their personal and professional goals, make informed decisions, and plan successful trajectories. Promote European and social values such as inclusion, equality, sustainability, and active citizenship, fostering in students an ethical commitment that transcends the technical dimension, to form responsible professionals aware of their environment. Strengthen collaboration among educational institutions, companies, and European organizations, generating cooperation networks that allow sharing good practices, resources, and innovative experiences, and serve as support for future training and professional development initiatives. In sum, the HED project aspires to be a benchmark in improving the quality and relevance of higher-level vocational education, facilitating mobility, meaningful learning, and the integration of students into advanced educational and labor environments. Through these actions, it is expected that students will acquire comprehensive training enabling them to reach a higher level of employability and actively contribute to the economic and social development of their communities and Europe as a whole.
