Objectives

CIFP Manuel Antonio is a vocational training centre specialized in several fields of education (healthcare, chemistry, textiles, food industries, hospitality and tourism). Part of the multidisciplinary education we aim to offer at the centre is reflected in our international strategy. Through the implementation of the project **2023-1-ES01-KA131-HED-000124707**, we aimed to improve the quality of our Higher vocational training programmes by increasing the number of grants requested compared to previous years. We believe that carrying out internships abroad helps students gain a broader understanding of what the European Union represents, how people work in other countries, and how this improves not only their professional skills but also their social abilities, cultural awareness, and personal development. The main objective was for our students to complete their technical training with an international experience that would enable them to feel more confident in diverse environments. We are convinced that these mobilities not only provide them with specific practical knowledge but also with personal growth that cannot be achieved solely in the classroom. Upon completion of their higher-level studies, students should be ready to enter the labour market, and the Erasmus+ experience helps them become more well-rounded individuals in all aspects of their lives. This project involved a budget increase of one third compared to the previous one: in 2022, the declared amount was €16,614.00, while in this one, it reached €30,659.00. This demonstrates our commitment to progressively increasing the number of grants offered to students year after year. It also reflects the growing demand from students, who are increasingly interested in gaining work experience in other European countries. At CIFP Manuel Antonio, we have been committed to the internationalisation of our centre for over a decade. We have held the ECHE Charter since 2014, renewed until 2027, and with each project we aim to strengthen our European projection. This sustained commitment clearly reflects our will to integrate the European dimension into our educational approach. Furthermore, we understand that these projects not only benefit students, but also contribute to the development of the centre itself. They help us establish links with European institutions, exchange good practices, and improve our own teaching methodologies. They also encourage teachers to adopt a more open attitude towards innovation and international cooperation. In fact, staff involvement in this type of project has grown significantly in recent years, promoting a more cross-curricular approach to mobility across all study programmes offered. Another important aspect we hoped to achieve with this project was to strengthen inclusion. We have worked to ensure that the Erasmus+ programme is accessible to all students, regardless of their economic or personal circumstances, providing the necessary support in each case. We are especially committed to reaching students with fewer opportunities, as we know that for them, this experience can have a highly transformative impact. We also aimed to further integrate mobility experiences into the curriculum, seeking greater alignment between learning outcomes and the experiences gained abroad. This connection between theory and practice, between the classroom and the European professional environment, is key to training highly qualified technicians with a comprehensive vision of their professional future. In short, by implementing this project, we aimed to continue progressing towards our goal of offering high-quality, modern education that is connected to the European environment. We want our students not only to earn a qualification but also to gain a life-changing experience that opens doors and equips them with tools to thrive in an increasingly globalised job market. At the same time, we want the centre to continue growing as an institution, consolidating its position within the framework of European cooperation and international education.
