The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) aimed to provide students with a learning experience in a European country through this project, while also promoting aspects such as language learning and other cultural aspects. This experience can be beneficial for students in their learning process, as well as later in a work environment. It is considered that the activities carried out have mostly responded to the strategic priorities identified: offering a personalized and multidisciplinary training model through Information and Communication Technologies (ICT); promoting research and the transfer of knowledge about the knowledge society and online education; firmly committing to globalization through international recognition; promoting transversality and flexibility (both at an academic and management level); and governing in a collaborative, transparent and socially responsible way. Through the online teaching and learning model and the UOC's long experience in e-learning, our participation, at all levels, is precisely to provide e-learning skills. For this reason, projects are developed with partners who can adapt or complement their educational model taking into account the constant innovation in the field of ICT. The university also has aimed this programme at all UOC employees (teaching and management staff). The aim is for our own team to learn about other institutions, focusing on the university model and how it works in any of its areas, and also to share the perspective of what we do at the UOC. This experience represents an opportunity for professional development through learning about realities different from our own, as well as the enrichment that comes from exchanging ideas with other cultures and points of view and ways of working, in order to innovate and drive improvements in the activity of the UOC teams.
