The mobility project of Universidad San Jorge, described in this report, constitutes a key part of our institution’s internationalization strategy. It is included in the Strategic Plan for the period 2020-2025 and is considered an ongoing process, essential both for the future of the university and for the personal and professional development of students, faculty, and administrative staff. By implementing the project, Universidad San Jorge aimed to align its academic plan with the fundamental values and objectives of the Erasmus+ program. In particular, the project sought to promote mobility and inclusion, enabling students, faculty, and university staff to gain international experiences regardless of their social, economic, or cultural background. It also aimed to foster diversity and intercultural respect, encouraging coexistence and learning alongside people from different cultures, as well as tolerance and mutual understanding. Another key objective was to enhance learning and skills development, strengthening linguistic, intercultural, digital, and transversal competencies necessary for a global professional and social environment. In parallel, the project sought to improve educational quality and cooperation, promoting collaboration with other institutions to optimize teaching, academic programs, and learning methods. Finally, it aimed to foster active citizenship and social engagement, encouraging responsible participation by the university community in initiatives that contribute to collective well-being and societal development. One of our main objectives has been to continue actively promoting mobility across the entire university community and to host international students, faculty, and administrative staff, providing a multicultural environment, an increasing number of courses taught in English, and a wide range of academic and extracurricular services tailored to their needs. Furthermore, we have sought to expand our participation in short-term programs (Blended Intensive Programmes, BIP) in order to reach a greater number of participants who, for personal, academic, or financial reasons, would not have considered undertaking a long-term academic exchange. Additionally, we aimed to implement three BIPs within our own institution as a host university, offering combined intensive programs organized by Universidad San Jorge, taking a more active role in their coordination, and welcoming a greater number of students and faculty members. Through the various mobility programs, we have also sought to maximize the benefits of internationalization at home, which allows all students and university staff to benefit from a global environment without the need for physical mobility. This strategy promotes the development of intercultural, linguistic, and transversal competencies, fosters diversity and inclusion, enhances teaching quality by incorporating international perspectives into the classroom, and strengthens institutional collaboration and the university’s international visibility. Moreover, it expands access to international experiences for those who cannot participate in long-term exchanges, generating a positive impact on the university community and preparing students for a global professional environment. Another objective has been to strengthen institutional collaboration through ongoing cooperation, materialized in joint actions and the development of European projects. To achieve these objectives, it has been essential to expand the search for new partners in order to guarantee the best opportunities for our students and staff, as well as to extend existing agreements to new degree programs as they are implemented.
