Objectives

The IES Santa Lucía del Trampal believes that vocational training must be eminently practical, specialized, adapted to new changes and advances, and, above all, closely linked to the business world, while always taking into account social realities. We are moving forward with the new dual vocational training. We believe that our teaching work cannot remain on the sidelines of the internationalization process, since we consider it the best way for our students to acquire competitive skills to live, work, and interact at the European level. These are gained through their mobility experiences in the host country, by engaging with its culture, way of life, traditions, and educational system. The proposal has been directed at students of the Higher Vocational Training Cycle in Social Integration, a program that belongs to the professional family of Community Services. These are technicians who will play an important role in our society, as well as at the European level. They are trained to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate social integration interventions by applying specific strategies and techniques, promoting equal opportunities, always acting with an attitude of respect towards the beneficiaries, and ensuring the creation of safe environments for both the beneficiaries and the professionals themselves. Students who have participated in mobility programs have had the opportunity to get to know another European country—its cities, people, customs, and forms of organization; to communicate in other languages, mainly improving their linguistic skills; and to develop their professional, social, and personal competencies, acquiring an identity and maturity that today enhance their employment prospects and future labor market integration. The execution of all granted mobility projects is considered a priority, and with the extension of the project’s duration, we aim to carry them all out. The greatest obstacle we encounter in the development of these mobilities is the limited scholarship funds participants receive. Our students generally come from lower-middle-class families, and living abroad during mobility becomes financially challenging. Despite these difficulties, our motivation for the internationalization project remains strong, and we continue offering students these experiences, which foster cultural diversity, allow them to improve or learn new languages by immersing themselves in a new cultural and linguistic environment, and promote personal growth by enhancing adaptability, confidence, and intercultural skills. Professionally, their competencies are strengthened. At the institutional level, the implementation of this project facilitates the creation of contact networks with organizations and encourages the transfer of good practices from host companies. In this way, IES Santa Lucía del Trampal reaffirms its commitment to a professional education that transcends borders, advocating for comprehensive training in which each student becomes the protagonist of their own learning and personal and professional development. The experience gained through mobility projects shows us that these initiatives not only have a positive impact on students’ employability but also broaden their life perspectives, expand cultural horizons, and foster the construction of a more cohesive and supportive European citizenship. In this regard, our center aims to continue expanding and diversifying mobility destinations, establishing agreements with entities that address the specific needs of future social integration technicians, and ensuring high-quality internships that allow them to directly experience the diversity of intervention contexts. At the same time, we reinforce our commitment with families and the educational community in general by raising awareness of the importance of participating in these European projects. Likewise, we are committed to networking with other educational and social institutions across the European Union in order to consolidate strategic alliances that facilitate knowledge transfer, pedagogical innovation, and continuous improvement in the training of our students. These ties strengthen our center’s position as a benchmark in the promotion of internationalization and cooperation. Finally, we understand that this collective effort not only benefits students but also the social and business fabric of our community, as society gains professionals who are better prepared, with a broader vision and skills that respond to the challenges of a globalized world. Vocational training, especially dual training, thus becomes a driving force for progress and actively contributes to building a more inclusive and sustainable future.
