Objectives

The launch of this project had as its main purpose the promotion of internationalisation in vocational education and training, an area in which we consider it essential to open up new opportunities both for institutions and for students and teaching staff. With this aim in mind, a series of objectives were set which, beyond their technical character, sought to transform the way in which institutions engage with the European and international context. Firstly, the intention was to enable each institution to design and implement its own internationalisation plans, tailored to its needs but coherent with the overall strategy of the Department of Education and Vocational Training. The goal was to provide school leadership teams and mobility coordinators with tools, training and guidance to ensure a sustainable and high-quality process over time. In addition, the project aimed to foster inclusion and equal opportunities, offering specific support measures for students with fewer resources or particular needs, so that no personal, social or economic circumstance would become an obstacle to participation. Diversity of profiles was to be understood as an added value and a reflection of the programme’s commitment to equity. Another essential objective was to encourage the active participation of institutions in European networks and associations (EARLALL, FREREF, EPALE, among others), with the aim of creating a shared space for the exchange of good practices, methodologies and experiences. This collaborative dimension would be reinforced by the organisation of seminars and specialist meetings, conceived as platforms for collective learning and the creation of new international synergies. The project also sought to enhance the quality of mobilities and their academic and professional recognition. To this end, emphasis was placed on the participants’ prior preparation (linguistic, cultural and digital), on adapting placements to training needs, and on the effective recognition of learning outcomes, in line with the principles of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE). In line with the horizontal priorities of the Erasmus+ programme, the project aimed to advance sustainability and the green transition by encouraging the use of sustainable means of transport and environmental awareness; to deepen digitalisation by promoting the use of digital tools and blended mobility formats; and to strengthen the civic dimension and European values by encouraging students’ active participation in initiatives of social and democratic engagement. Finally, the project sought to consolidate a solid strategy for the dissemination and communication of results, using both digital channels (corporate website, social media, newsletters) and face-to-face activities (seminars, video competitions and dissemination events). The aim was to give visibility to the experiences, motivate future participants and strengthen the image of Catalan vocational education and training as an open, innovative system fully integrated into the European framework. In short, this project was conceived as a key tool to move towards a more open, inclusive and connected vocational education and training system, aligned with the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme and with the Catalan educational strategy, better preparing institutions, teachers and students to face the global challenges of the 21st century.
