The main objective of the project was to strengthen the employability and professional development of Higher VET students through high-quality international mobility experiences. These mobilities, mostly focused on work placements, were conceived as a strategic tool for acquiring technical, personal, and language skills aligned with the needs of the Basque business sector and the core values of the Basque VET system. The specific objectives of the project included: Facilitating access to mobility for diverse student profiles, especially those with fewer opportunities, by applying inclusive selection criteria, providing additional financial support, and selecting affordable and culturally accessible destinations. Enhancing the acquisition of key transversal skills, such as autonomy, responsibility, and emotional management, through continuous support before, during, and after the mobility, the use of reflective portfolios, and the evaluation carried out by company tutors via the “After the Mobility” section of the Learning Agreement. Strengthening the consortium’s host company network, through a continuous evaluation system based on internal surveys completed by both students and host companies, enabling long-term relationships, identifying risks, and ensuring ongoing quality improvement. Progressing in the alignment with the horizontal priorities of the Erasmus+ programme, particularly in the areas of inclusion, digitalisation, and sustainability, through specific training sessions, shared quality standards, and strategic decisions (such as the compulsory use of sustainable transport in some destinations starting in the 2024–2025 academic year). Consolidating the role of Ikaslan Mobility as a key actor in the internationalisation of Basque VET, by promoting inter-centre cooperation, sharing good management practices, and actively participating in European networks such as EFVET and LCAMP. Leveraging the potential of innovative programme instruments such as BIPs, as a means to promote transformative methodologies and shared learning between institutions from different countries, even when long-term mobility is not feasible for certain student or staff profiles. In short, the consortium expected the implementation of the project to consolidate a transformative mobility experience for students, with real impact on their professional future, while also reinforcing the cohesion, internationalisation capacity, and excellence of the VET centres that form part of Ikaslan Mobility.
