Objectives

The Erasmus+ mobility project 2023-1-ES01-KA131-HED-000139937 stems from our institution’s need to promote internationalisation and to implement a process of continuous improvement in educational quality. The main goal of our Erasmus+ mobility projects in the field of higher education is to offer teachers and academic staff mobility opportunities that will enhance their professional and personal competencies, while also opening new pathways for the internationalisation of our educational offer. One of the aims is to create opportunities for our students to carry out internships in companies across Europe. Through experiences such as job shadowing or training placements in companies, participants not only deepen their knowledge in their specific subject area but also acquire a set of key competences that enrich their teaching practice. These training stays allow staff to observe and participate in the daily workflow of companies or educational institutions in other countries. This promotes internationalisation, intercultural learning, and the transfer of best practices. In addition to learning about the professional profiles and working methods of specific companies, participants also assess their potential as future host organisations for student internships. Thanks to Erasmus+ mobility, teachers acquire a variety of competencies that have a positive impact on their professional development, and, consequently, on student learning outcomes. The main competencies acquired include: 1. Professional and Technical Competences: Participants learn about innovative methodologies used in educational or professional contexts, such as project-based learning. They also become familiar with new technologies and digital tools applied in host institutions, which they can integrate into their own teaching practices. 2. Intercultural Competences: Mobility helps teachers develop skills to adapt to different cultures, enhancing their ability to work in international environments, improving interactions with students, and fostering an inclusive approach in the classroom. 3. Language Competences: Interaction with international professionals improves participants’ language skills, communication abilities, and their command of field-specific vocabulary. 4. Management and Leadership Competences: Teachers strengthen their ability to manage time, resources, and interpersonal relationships, both in the classroom and in professional contexts. This includes the development of more effective teaching strategies and classroom management techniques. 5. Educational Innovation Competences: Participants gain fresh, creative ideas that they can implement in their own teaching, resulting in greater student engagement and increased motivation. ________________________________________ The acquisition of these competencies has a direct and tangible impact on the teaching staff, enabling them to pursue ongoing professional development through the renewal and updating of their professional knowledge. It also strengthens international networks, establishing connections for future collaboration and exchange of experiences. This, in turn, increases motivation and a sense of professional commitment among participants. Moreover, the positive impact extends to students, who benefit directly from their teachers’ improved preparation and exposure to more innovative, practical, and career-oriented teaching approaches. In summary, Erasmus+ mobility projects are powerful tools for improving the quality of teaching and learning. The competencies acquired not only enrich classroom practice but also have a direct effect on student motivation and on the teacher’s ability to adapt to the ongoing changes in the educational and professional landscapes.
