Objectives

International mobility plays a fundamental role in the internationalisation strategy of the Pontifical University of Salamanca (UPSA). By participating in this project, we aimed to achieve the following objectives: 1) Increase the number of partner higher education institutions: The most important criteria we have taken into account when establishing new Erasmus+ agreements have been the academic affinity between the Pontifical University of Salamanca and the other institution and ensuring that the collaboration is beneficial for the entire university community. We have given priority to agreements with UPSA's most recent degree programmes to ensure the participation of all faculties and degree programmes in the Erasmus+ programme. 2) Improve and strengthen contact with partner institutions, as a solid, trust-based contact is the only way to ensure the quality of cooperation. 3) Increase European student mobility: We are aware of the importance and benefits of intra-European student mobility in promoting European values and a shared European identity. With the increase in the number of partners, we wanted to increase the number of students participating in the KA131 Erasmus+ programme, especially the participation of students with fewer opportunities or students at risk of exclusion. 4) Increase the mobility of teaching and administrative staff: For UPSA, the participation of outgoing and incoming staff in the Erasmus+ programme has a positive impact on the entire university. On the one hand, we wanted to convey an international experience to students who cannot participate in mobility themselves through guest lecturers and the international experiences of UPSA's own teaching staff. On the other hand, staff mobility contributes to a broader knowledge of the partner university and to the exchange of good practices between teaching and administrative staff of different contexts, thereby improving the quality of the universities. For the internationalisation strategy to be effective, the entire university community must be involved in the process. 5) Increase Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs), both as a coordinating university and as a sending university: The implementation of and participation in BIPs allows a greater number of students to have an international experience. By sending students to a BIP, we wanted to increase the number of student mobilities, especially among students with fewer opportunities for long-term mobility. 6) Allocate 20% of funds to non-European mobility to promote these experiences and try to prevent the economic factor from being decisive when deciding to undertake non-European mobility. 7) Maintain, as has been the case in recent years, the participation of all faculties in the Erasmus+ programme, both at the student and teacher level, and the participation of administrative staff from different services and areas of work.
