Objectives

Our objective was to be able to provide our students with the opportunity to live an international experience that would enrich their development in both personal and professional competences, broadening their knowledge to become more competent in their fields of study. The experience aimed to be a driving force in the development of key competences that promote better employability, such as autonomy, adaptability, problem-solving, and teamwork in multiple contexts. Moreover, as could not be otherwise, the proposal included as one of the project’s goals the possibility of offering an international experience within the member countries of the European Union, where participating students could strengthen their language skills, increasing their confidence in communicating in foreign languages. In addition, the project intended to create a learning context for students in which they could develop their sense of being European citizens, learning to value more deeply the importance of cooperation, solidarity, and shared responsibility, as well as the democratic values of the European Union. In this context, students have the opportunity to exchange experiences with people from diverse backgrounds, appreciating cultural differences and broadening their outlook towards a more tolerant and empathetic society committed to diversity and social inclusion. On the other hand, among our objectives was also the aim of offering professional development opportunities to our staff, enabling them to enhance their training and expand their working methodologies so that they could later share them with their departmental colleagues and apply them in the classroom to improve their teaching practice. Finally, one of our goals was to embed the Erasmus project within the school by involving both students and teachers, raising awareness of what the programme offers and the importance of promoting an education with an updated, global, and committed approach.
