Objectives

We are a consortium made up of seven Vocational Training Centres and the School of Art and Design (EASD) of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain), coordinated by the Island Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (FIFEDE). The partner centres offer around 60 Higher Vocational Training Programmes to young people from the Canary Islands, covering a wide range of professional fields: CIFP César Manrique (14 Higher VET Programs), CIFP Los Gladiolos (12 Higher VET Programs), CIFP Las Indias (5 Higher VET Programs), CIFP La Laguna (3 Higher VET Programs), CIFP Virgen de la Candelaria (13 Higher VET Programs), IES Tegueste (4 Higher VET Programs), and EASD Fernando Estévez (10 Higher VET Programs). Although the “Erasmus+” programme has provided the opportunity for recent graduates to carry out practical training abroad since 2014, half of our centres had never managed graduate mobility before. In 2017, the Island Council of Tenerife, through FIFEDE, created this consortium to manage international work placements mainly for recent graduates from the then four Integrated Vocational Training Centres, as well as for their teaching staff. Considering that the youth unemployment rate in the Canary Islands is among the highest both nationally and at the European level, our main objectives include: - Increasing the number of Erasmus+ programme beneficiaries in the partner centres, especially among recent graduates. - Improving the employability of young people in Tenerife through the development of their professional and personal skills. - Facilitating administrative procedures, pre-mobility preparation, and the exchange of best practices among partners in order to improve the quality of implementation within the Erasmus+ programme framework. - Improving the quality of support provided to Erasmus+ beneficiaries in the partner centres. - Recognition of learning outcomes through the Erasmus+ programme. - Exchange of company contact information. - Expanding the range of destination countries for mobility under both KA131 and KA171 actions.
