Objectives

Within the internationalization project of the center, which we began five years ago, our institution, located in a small corner of Spain/Europe, aimed to show and allow both the teaching staff and higher education students to experience what an ERASMUS+ mobility entails. In my opinion, this is something that highly and satisfactorily complements the overall training and development of those who take part in it. The objectives pursued in this project can be summarized as follows: - Digital Transformation and Active Use of ICTs: The project sought to drive digital transformation by integrating the active use of innovative technological tools in both student learning and teaching practice, in line with the program’s digitalization priority. The focus was mainly on deepening the use of digital tools in the program (especially EWP, which is appropriate for this level, and eTwinning). At the same time, we aimed to improve participants’ digital skills. - **Promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship**: Since our center has an Entrepreneurship Classroom (https://aulaemprendimientoalbares.es/), we wanted to encourage the exchange of good practices, collaborative learning, and creativity—the fundamental pillars of ERASMUS+—as part of our goal to strengthen the students’ capacity for innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, which are essential aspects of employability and educational modernization. - **Enhancing Professional Competitiveness**: We sought to prioritize the acquisition of technical and professional skills in international contexts, especially within the training cycles offered at the center: Web Application Development, Administration and Management, International Trade, Logistics and Transport, and Mechatronics. This contributes to excellence and adaptation to the demands of the European labor market. - **Teacher Mobility and Training**: Since these training programs had already been running for some time and we had achieved stability in our teaching staff, we also wanted to facilitate their ongoing professional development through stays at institutions and companies abroad. This was essential to respond to the digital transformation, methodological updating, and emerging needs in the education sector. - Development of Language Skills: An obvious goal, as promoting the use and improvement of foreign languages in professional contexts, thereby raising the communicative level of the entire educational community and facilitating their integration into the European Higher Education Area and labor market, is inherent in any project of this nature. - Strengthening the International Collaboration Network: Now that we have established contacts through previous projects and thanks to new teachers with links to European institutions, we aimed to consolidate strategic partnerships with European educational institutions and companies. This is essential for internationalization and transnational cooperation and is particularly valuable for nearly peripheral regions like ours, as it increases opportunities for exchange and joint development. - Understanding and Appreciation of Cultural Diversity: Another key objective, and part of the spirit of the program, was to embrace an approach of inclusion and diversity, promoting respect and intercultural coexistence as the foundation for creating open, equitable, and cohesive educational environments, in line with civic commitment and the European values highlighted by ERASMUS+. - Promoting Employability: A higher education ERASMUS+ program such as this would be incomplete if it did not aim to improve students’ labor market integration through practical experience and the acquisition of key competences, contributing to the European strategic objectives of high-quality training and employment. - Inclusion and Diversity: Given the multicultural, economic, and social reality of our center, this project also aimed to remove barriers to participation by encouraging involvement from groups with fewer opportunities (students at risk of exclusion and immigrant populations, both of which are widely represented in our training cycles). The goal was to foster accessible, equitable, and multicultural education. - Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: Last but not least, we wanted to firmly establish systematic mechanisms for evaluation and feedback collection, allowing for the continuous improvement of the program and its adaptation to participants’ needs and the demands of the sector. This was an area we explicitly sought to improve upon in comparison with past projects developed at our center.
