Objectives

The "Women Rise" project aimed to empower women aged 50 and above by creating inclusive learning spaces that foster personal growth, mental well-being, and social engagement. Through the project, we sought to achieve the following objectives: 1. Create Learning Spaces for Women – We established structured educational opportunities where women could develop self-awareness, creativity, and resilience using mindfulness, creative expression, and nature-based approaches. 2. Train Women as Facilitators of Women Circles – We provided adult women with the skills and competencies needed to lead "Women Circles" enabling them to support each other and contribute to their communities as facilitators of personal and collective growth. 3. Promote a Culture of Empowerment – By equipping women with practical knowledge, leadership skills, and emotional well-being strategies, we aimed to foster a culture of empowerment that would help them navigate life transitions with confidence and purpose. 4. Enhance Mental and Physical Well-being – The project sought to reduce social isolation by encouraging women to take an active role in their communities.

Background

We applied for "Women Rise" project to address the lack of support and learning opportunities for women aged 50 and above, particularly those at risk of social exclusion. Through our work with adult women, we identified a strong need for structured spaces that foster personal growth, mental well-being, and empowerment during this transitional stage of life. Many of these women serve as pillars of their families and communities but often lack access to initiatives that support their own development. This project aimed to create accessible educational pathways that enhance self-awareness, creativity, and well-being through mindfulness, creative expression, and nature-based approaches. Additionally, we sought to equip women with facilitation skills to lead "Women Circles", enabling them to build supportive networks and strengthen their leadership roles in their communities. By addressing these needs, "Women Rise" contributed to reducing social isolation, improving mental health, and increasing participation in adult education.
