The project we have carried out seeks to achieve several key objectives: -To make double discrimination visible: The aim is to highlight the issue of double discrimination suffered by women with disabilities in Europe, addressing both gender and disability discrimination, something that has so far been little reflected in policies and strategies. -Integrating the gender perspective in career guidance: The objective is to incorporate the gender perspective in career guidance processes, focusing specifically on women with disabilities to provide a more tailored attention to their needs and promote their employability. -Promoting equal opportunities: Through career guidance and employment, the project seeks to eliminate the barriers faced by these women and promote equal opportunities, regardless of the territory in which they live. -Promote collaborative work at the European level: The project fosters international cooperation between entities from different European countries, creating a collaborative network and contributing to a shared European identity. -To generate social change: The organizations involved seek to be an engine of change.
The project was requested due to the need to address the multiple difficulties faced by women with disabilities in accessing the labor market, a situation reflected in the European Strategy 2021/2030. These women are often victims of discrimination not only because of their disability, but also because of gender, ethnicity, religion, and other factors such as gender-based violence and dependency. The main objective of the project is to adapt the labor orientation process for women with disabilities, taking into account all the variables that affect their labor market insertion and working with them in a comprehensive manner. To achieve this, the project has developed a Manual to guide professionals in the orientation from a gender perspective, providing personalized attention. In addition, an empowerment booklet has been developed to work with women with low self-esteem or who may have been victims of gender violence, and a brochure to promote the hiring of women with disabilities, highlighting the economic and social benefits. This comprehensive approach seeks not only to improve the employability of these women, but also to address their personal development.
