Objectives

- Providing innovative methodologies to dance and theater teachers to improve their competences in teaching adults, with a special focus on target groups with fewer opportunities. - Using creative tools in the learning of students from three different European regions, creating a network for future cooperation. - Contributing to the dissemination of the results among new generations of artists, achieving a regional, national and European impact.

Background

Playing Bodies was born from the shared need of three European organisations to innovate in contemporary dance education for adults, placing the body—as an expressive, educational and social tool—at the centre of learning. After working independently for years, the partners realised that combining methodologies, experience and inclusive approaches would better address the sector’s challenges: from digitalisation and unequal access to resources, to the inclusion of people with fewer opportunities. The project therefore addressed the need to create intergenerational, physical and digital learning spaces where new movement-based methodologies could be explored, with impact at both local and European levels. Activities were designed to be accessible and inclusive, engaging teachers, students and artists in collaborative creative processes. Beyond teacher training, Playing Bodies strengthened international cooperation networks, reaffirming the role of dance as an educational and inclusive tool.
