Objectives

The goal is to increase the availability of digital content, technologies, and practices by developing a compendium and support technology based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions. We have achieved this by pursuing the following objectives: 1) Improving teachers' skills in relation to global best practices in the use of AI in higher education. 2) Develop training modules and increase the use of AI technologies in education by developing virtual assistants for learning modules. 3) Create a framework and toolbox of AI technologies for broader and faster integration of AI in higher education. 4) Improve the student experience with multimedia technologies by integrating AI-based support systems (chatbots). 5) Enhance selected multimedia study programs with innovative AI-based solutions for education and conduct targeted pilot tests. AISS results achieved: R1 Compendium of AI solutions R2 Virtual assistant R3 Toolkit for teachers and trainers R4 Redesigned multimedia study program

Background

The preliminary needs analysis shows a lack of support materials and guidance for teachers in the field of multimedia technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. With this in mind, the partners previously identified three main needs in higher education, which we address with the Work Packages (WP): 1) Universities and SMEs need study modules that provide opportunities to increase the number of professionals in multimedia technologies. The Compendium developed in HIRE will help them in this regard (WP2). 2) University teachers and trainers need a virtual assistant and a toolbox to help them in the study support process. This has been developed in WP3-WP4. 3) University students need innovative study modules to help involve the business sector in the study process, thereby accelerating and streamlining digitization processes. At HIRE, we have created a redesigned multimedia study program that integrates innovative tools and assistants that improve the student experience with multimedia technologies (WP5).
