Objectives

The project aimed to achieve three main objectives: 1. Develop up-to-date, high-quality training resources on eco-design in fashion that are accessible and useful for higher education students. 2. To create innovative tools, such as a virtual laboratory with 3D experiments and a MOOC, to enable practical and dynamic learning. 3. To foster students' entrepreneurial skills through an international challenge (Eco-Design Challenge) that would connect sustainability and business creation. Overall, the aim was to strengthen sustainability training within the textile sector, improve employability and encourage the real adoption of responsible practices.

Background

We applied for this project because we identified a need in the fashion and textile sector: a lack of up-to-date training tools that integrate sustainability, eco-design and entrepreneurship into higher education. The textile sector is one of the most polluting and, at the same time, one of the sectors most in need of professionals prepared to lead a transition towards responsible and sustainable practices. The project developed responds to several needs: • To provide students and professionals with up-to-date knowledge on eco-design and sustainability. • To facilitate practical content through virtual experiments that allow skills to be acquired without the need for physical equipment. • To promote entrepreneurial capacity in the sustainable fashion sector. • Create up-to-date, accessible and multilingual resources to reach more students and strengthen the connection between universities and the professional sector.
